hi it's me again i have one teddybear that i've owned since about 1980 it's a brown color and i've named him bear a friend of my moms got him for me. i love him with my all my heart and soul he's been dropkicked and everything even through a few surgerys besides me. and i have a teddybear that is named mattie from cottage collectables that has a scar down the front of it's chest like me. wherever i go i look for teddybears and for boyds figurines. i love to sleep with my teddybears. i used to carry my teddybears around with me but i was told people took offense to it so i can't carry them around anymore. oh well maybe people are too stuffy for their own good. nothing much i can do about it. bye for now from jenny.

Hi ! Since i was a child I know a teddy bear called "tjockis" (the fat one) He is manufactured in France by a company called "Ajena". I still have him as my friend but he�s not so fat anymore and he is much older (about 23 years know) and know I would like to find teddys just like him. He is nutbrown eith beige belly, nose and paws. His nose is in skin and he got black button eyes and not so tall (45 cm). Hello,I'm a grandmother who lives on the Ponca Indian Reservation in OK. About 20 years ago I began sewing Teddybears for the children of relatives as presents. A little later grandchildren arrived so the Bears multiplied and we began to call them the "Machu Tribe". Machu is bear in Ponca. I make them from Indian blankets, handsew them and make Indian chokers and vests to dress them with. Although most are gifts I do sell a few for around $100. depending on size. The Machu Tribes probably mumbers over a hundred now. I just realized there are so many people interested in Bears worldwide, your site is a wonderful thing. My favourite bear is Marmaduke he is the symbol of the Teddy Bear Museum in Stratford upon Avon. I bought him before I emigrated to New Zealand. He is number 11 / 1988. I am a 21yr old, long time bear collector. I have no idea what my collection sits at numerically, but to me it's not enough. I would like to reccomend a store that I found in the Mall of America called The Basic Brown Bear Factory. Here you may chose the type of bear you would like, stuff, sew, and fluff it, then dress it in one of many different outfits available. Two bears of my collection were "born" there, with my help they now have a happy home as well as their own personality which i helped to create. Need information on a steiff panda I recently purchased. It has a yellow button tag in the ear with numbers on it and german spelling. The panda also squeaks when squeezed in the chest. Last month I found a tan mohair bear w/hump on back in excellent cond. at a garage sale for .50!! Eyes are glass. Mohair in superb condition. Hump is confusing. The face looks similar to a Chiltern bear I found in a book. How long were bears produced with "hump" back? Thanks :)

Hi! I'm new to the internet and this is my first look at teddy bears! I've been collecting since I was little but only the last 2+years have I built my collection up to approximately 60 ? bears. ( I haven't counted in a while) Anyway, I'm at a point now that I have mostly "souvineer type" teddies and am now ready to move on to the big stuff. In my collection I do have a few oldies, hand mades, one made from patchwork quilts and even one from a collection, (that came out in the 80's I think) from the North American Bear Company; V.I.B's (very important bears) designed after Hollywood legends and the like. I have "LIBEARACE." The collection also had "HUMPHRY BEARGART" "ZSA ZSA GABEAR" "QUEEN ELIZABEAR" "ELVIS BEARSLY" "WILLIAM SHAKEBEAR" ETC. but I only ever bought Libearace. Oh Well. I have been looking for many years to find the oridinal Corduroy Bear that goes with the book. The estate of the author that has the copy right will not release the rights to anyone. The bear came out in the late 70's or early 80's. My child had one and was lost on a vacation in Hope, Ak. If you know of a source to find one please e-mail me back. Thanks
